About us

SGMR was founded by Charles Mardini, Ygal Rabinovici and the Société Générale banking group. Société Générale holds 25% of SGMR’s capital and the two founding partners, Mr Mardini and Mr Rabinovici, hold 75% via their joint holding company M&R SA.
The creation of SGMR is first and foremost the result of a strong human relationship and friendship between the two founding partners who met 25 years ago at the bank CBG, Compagnie Bancaire Genève, which was for both of them their first employer.
The main idea behind the creation of SGMR in 2010 was to create a financial company whose mode of operation would be based exclusively on an independent spirit and therefore on a totally open architecture. Also, SGMR is a company that works closely with dozens of custodian banks as well as with a network of partners selected according to its own criteria. This open policy allows us to have access to the best partnerships while remaining independent. As for Société Générale, the acquisition of a stake in SGMR was a response to the bank’s desire to add the dynamism and independence of a dynamic, human-sized structure to the solidity of a renowned institution.

Thanks to this privileged partnership with the Société Générale group, SGMR is a unique structure among management companies in Europe.

In more than 10 years, SGMR has become one of the leading players in the Swiss financial centre. Indeed, SGMR is now a benchmark among independent asset managers in Switzerland in terms of assets under management.
